E-Safety

E-Safety

We follow 2BeSafe, which is the comprehensive, dedicated online safety scheme of work from Purple Mash (by 2Simple), designed to provide age-appropriate education from Reception up to Year 6. It is fully aligned with the Education for a Connected World framework and is now the recommended way to deliver online safety within the refreshed Purple Mash Computing Scheme. It heavily integrates critical thinking to move beyond passive safety rules, helping children analyze, question, and evaluate their online experiences. We deliver it in weekly class assemblies that allow for in-depth discussions on eight themes:

  • Self-Image and Identity
  • Online Relationships
  • Online Reputation
  • Online Bullying
  • Managing Online Information
  • Health, Wellbeing and Lifestyle
  • Privacy and Security
  • Copyright and Ownership

We focus on e-safety as a way of keeping our children safe. We work with pupils, parents and outside agencies such as the police to keep children as safe as possible. We also work with pupils so that they are aware of how to deal with inappropriate behaviour or material should they experience it.
