Welcome to Cadbury Class!
A very warm welcome to Early Years. Our reception class is called Cadbury, after John Cadbury, who was a Quaker and English proprietor, tea and coffee trader and founder of Cadbury, the chocolate business based in Birmingham, England.
Class teacher: Miss Kayleigh Botha
HLTA (higher level teaching assistant): Ms Jane Anderson
Teaching Assistant: Miss Jazzmine Thomas
Our classroom is spacious and bright with access to a large, dedicated outdoor area overlooking the extensive school grounds. The children enjoy working and playing with natural resources and have access to a range of equipment including a sand tray, climbing frame (trim trail), water tray and a pirate ship!
The children benefit from a play based curriculum and we encourage and support independent learning whilst providing a structured and stimulating environment for them to grow and develop in, where the focus is learning through exploring. Individual threads of learning are encouraged and we support and follow each child’s interests. We work with and alongside parents and children to develop skills to enable them to become happy and confident learners.
Parents are encouraged to share in their children’s learning. The software 'Evidence Me' is used to share the children's learning achievements with their parents and parents are encouraged to upload their own observations at home. Next Steps are shared with parents to support development in all areas of learning.
We are passionate about providing the best possible start for the children in our care and ensuring their first steps at school are happy and safe.
