Cabinet Member for Education Visits William Penn

On Friday of last week, the Governors welcomed Jeremy Hunt, the Cabinet Minister for Education to school.  Mr Hunt was accompanied by Graham Olway from West Sussex County Council.  The Governors spent the morning setting out the case for local authority financial support for the provision of essential space for our pupils, for example group rooms for groups of children to work in.  The governors are awaiting feedback from the local authority but will keep the parent body informed of developments.

Petworth Arts Festival

Further to the much admired, recent display of pupils’ artwork at the reopening of The Blue Idol Quaker Meeting House, the artworks will be on display as part of the Petworth Festival.  Please see the poster below for further details and if you are able to visit, we hope that you enjoy the experience.

Heatwave Predicted

You will be aware that the temperature is forecast to be very hot this week.  Please ensure that your child is protected with sun cream, a hat and a water bottle that can be refilled regularly in school.  We have been advising the children how best to stay safe in the warm weather and will remain vigilant regarding access to shade.

Fox Teacher News

We are pleased to inform you that Mrs Wimpenny will be continuing to teach in Fox in September as Mrs Peters continues her maternity leave.  This will provide continuity and a familiar face for the children.  We will pass on further details regarding the end of Mrs Peters’ maternity leave as these become definite.

Website Updates

Please take the time to visit our website.  It is continually being updated and contains much of the information that you need.  The latest update includes video recordings of the children singing a Quaker song and the experience of May Day!  The link below will take you there.
